Qualstar Corporation’s full line of TLS-Series tape libraries has been tested and qualified by Veritas Software Corporation for Veritas Backup Exec storage management software. Qualstar said that its TLS-8000 Series libraries have also been qualified on Veritas Backup Exec SAN Shared Storage Option.

The compatibility tests were conducted at Veritas Software’s Hardware and SAN Integration Laboratories in Heathrow, Florida, and confirm compatibility between Qualstar’s TLS-Series libraries and Veritas Backup Exec running on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows NT platforms.

“Customers are asking for seamless, flexible integration between the software and hardware employed in direct attach and SAN environments,” said Neal Ater, Senior Vice President of Data Protection Products, Veritas Software. “Our compatibility testing of Qualstar’s TLS-Series tape libraries provides customers with a robust hardware/software solution that meets their needs today, and will scale to meet their needs in the future.”

Qualstar said its TLS-Series libraries support most advanced tape technologies, including AIT, LTO, and SuperDLT formats.
