AIT tape library vendor Spectra Logic announced that its Spectra 64000 and 12000 tape libraries have been tested and qualified by EMC as E-Lab Tested, assuring customers that the libraries are fully interoperable with EMC information storage systems.

“As part of the E-Lab Tested program, EMC conducts the industry’s most comprehensive testing to give customers the highest level of interoperability assurance,” said Chuck Hollis, EMC vice president of markets and products. “EMC continues to invest in equipment and resources to qualify the industry’s widest range of components for sustained interoperability across networked storage environments. Spectra Logic’s AIT tape libraries are the latest qualification that will help mutual customers lower interoperability costs.”

Spectra Logic said its enterprise tape libraries offer SAN-based backup configurations to work with EMC’s CLARiiON, Connectrix and EDM families of products. The AIT-3 Spectra 64000 library is designed to accommodate enterprise data management, offering more than 166 terabytes (TB) of compressed storage in a40U of rack space. The Spectra 12000 library with AIT-3, offers 31.2 TB of compressed storage in a 19-inch rack mount enclosure.
