Bottom Line

Sophisticated enterprises realize that software defined storage (SDS) is part of a larger whole. They know that SDS must be a fully integrated into a data center’s ecosystem. This larger integration is one of Nutanix’s SDS key selling points: the company is well regarded for its private-public cloud solutions, as well as its depth in hyperconveraged infrastructure. Combining these elements is typically needed for SDS success.

To its credit, the Nutanix solution combines software-defined storage capabilities with other infrastructure management features, particularly those relating to private or hybrid cloud environments.

Moreover, the Nutanix SDS simplifies infrastructure deployment and management while reducing total cost of ownership (TCO).

In sum, Nutanix is most useful for organizations that are setting up private or hybrid cloud environments and that are willing to invest in hyperconverged infrastructure. For those firms, Nutanix can be top choice.
