FalconStor Software, Inc. this week announced the certification of its IPStor product with Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server for enterprise-class data protection on IP/iSCSI and Fibre Channel storage networks.
According to FalconStor, the enterprise class storage services of IPStor, including storage virtualization, capacity-on-demand, remote replication, mirroring, application-aware snapshot, and zero-impact backup/restore enablers, allow a data center to contain storage management costs by consolidating, virtualizing storage equipment and provisioning them over the network.
"Businesses are exploring ways to manage the growing abundance of mission critical data, and business continuity is certainly an important consideration for IT administrators," said Peter Conway, Director, Windows .NET Server Solutions Group, Microsoft. "FalconStor's support acknowledges and affirms the value of Windows Datacenter certified applications to provide customers with enhanced highest levels of reliability, availability, and scalability as required in an enterprise-class computing environment."
FalconStor said by achieving certified status with Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server, IpStor enables enterprises to manage their growing messaging and collaboration infrastructure, while embracing a host of other Microsoft technologies.
