The data storage market is growing rapidly, led by transitions to hybrid cloud and multicloud environments. Analysts expect the market to grow by $1.14 billion over the next four years. And as the market grows, so do opportunities for data storage specialists.

The line between hardware and software companies has blurred substantially, with many storage companies providing a range of products and services in each area.

Below are 10 of the major data storage solution providers that are filling software-oriented positions: 

1. Dell Technologies

Formed in 2015 through Dell Technologies’ acquisition of the market leader EMC, Dell EMC is the leading provider of data storage hardware solutions worldwide. However, Dell also has a significant cloud storage business with its APEX Multi-Cloud Data Services and VMware Cloud offerings as well as a comprehensive suite of data analytics in its CloudIQ and DataIQ platforms.
